• He's a fourth-generation Statesville native, local business owner, and advocate for city taxpayers.

• He graduated with a degree in History from the University of South Carolina and holds graduate degrees in business administration (WCU) and real estate finance (UNCC).

• He's an Eagle Scout from New Salem United Methodist Church Troop 363.

• He actively serves his community by volunteering and contributing to local causes, including the Statesville-based charity Purple Heart Homes, Habitat for Humanity, the Mooresville Soup Kitchen, and the Boys and Girls Club.

• He cherishes his faith, and is an active member of Davidson College Presbyterian Church.

• He and his wife, Jessie, are expecting a baby boy in November.
